Water Supply and Treatment

Water collection, treatment to the required
standard, and then distribution to where it is needed, is an
essential building block of the modern world. Water is rarely
most abundant where the need is greatest, and population growth and
increasing environmental standards drive the need for improvements
both in volume of supply and the quality of water needed.
Scott Wilson provides the full range of water
services including water treatment works, collection and
distribution pipe networks, dams and storage reservoirs, irrigation
systems and desalination plants. Our technical services to
support water supply include civil engineering; hydraulics;
electrical and mechanical; process, project and programme
management; and health and safety.
We also provide services which enable the more efficient management
and use of water including leakage detection, design of water
recycling systems, water usage audits, and water use minimisation
plans. The scale of our projects ranges from specific water
projects such as individual treatment works, through to planning
for large developments and preparation of long-term water
strategies on a regional basis.
Scott Wilson provides a start-to-completion service which can
include any or all of the following stages:
- Network modelling
- Pre-feasibility, feasibility, outline and detailed design
- Tender and contract documents, including traditional, design
and construct and PFI
- Contract administration and site supervision
- Commissioning and audit
- Due diligence assessment for lenders, funders and
purchasers
Clients include water utility companies, contractors, local and
regional government and water authorities and developers.
Our familiarity with the latest techniques,
and availability of in-house experts in specialisms such as
process, allow us to identify and provide innovative solutions
which provide optimal solutions in terms of whole-life cost.
Increasingly we provide solutions which not only reduce cost, but
also minimise energy usage and reduce carbon footprint.
