Geo-environmental Services

Land owners are acutely aware that most
industrial sites are polluted by their previous land use. As
sites change hands, as regulatory regimes become stricter, and as
environmental issues put reputations at risk, owners need expert
geo-environmental support to manage their liabilities.
Scott Wilson Geo-environmental team helps turn
land from a liability to an asset. We provide a complete
service from preliminary assessment to completion of new
buildings. We can also provide individual components
including environmental audits, due diligence reporting, ground
investigation, risk assessment (health, ecology, controlled waters,
ground gas), Phase I (constraints and opportunities), Phase II
(detailed investigation), Phase III (remediation optioneering and
design), and implementation and certification of remediation.
The breadth of experience and expertise at
Scott Wilson enables us to tackle any problem in contaminated land
and groundwater in the UK and throughout the world. The
geo-environmental service is closely linked to related services
within Scott Wilson on geotechnics, ecology, noise and vibration,
planning and engineering design so that we offer an integrated
service to clients from first acquisition to site completion.
Scott Wilson offers access to the world-class Groundwater
Protection and Restoration Group (GPRG) at the University of
Sheffield. Under the leadership of Professor David Lerner
FREng, GPRG has a reputation for delivering high value research and
consultancy in contaminant hydrogeology for difficult
geo-environmental problems which require bespoke solutions, often
involving novel investigation, laboratory and modelling
studies.
