Tourism and Leisure

Tourism and Leisure are two of the most
dynamic sectors in the UK and international economies.
Rewards can be high in economic and social terms, but they are
complex and high risk industries. In order to develop and
prosper it is vital to establish the right product quality and mix,
based on sound financial, environmental, planning and
organisational advice. Clients range from major private
sector investors and operators to the World Tourism Organisation,
the World Bank, national governments and tourism agencies, and
local government.
Scott Wilson's Tourism and Leisure team has
the range of skills and practical approach that is based on
extensive industry experience and a track record that covers
national, regional and local tourism, leisure or sports strategies,
focused on urban or rural destinations and ranging from concept
plans and feasibility studies, through to masterplans or business
plans and marketing strategies. In all our work we are guided
by the four principles stemming from expertise, objectivity,
implementation and client orientation.
Sustainable tourism has long been a speciality
of the team and it has pioneered studies in this sector in the UK
and overseas, from the Norfolk Coast AONB to the entire length of
the Red Sea and from the South Coast of Jamaica to Thailand.
We frequently work in multi-disciplinary teams with other
specialists from Scott Wilson, allowing us to carry through our
advice to the client, from concept to completion.
Heritage tourism is another longstanding
interest and the team has worked on heritage properties, including
World Heritage Sites, from Jordan to Jamaica and for English
Heritage, the Heritage Lottery Fund and the National Trust.
