Scott Wilson has a track record of carrying
out high-class research for over 20 years. Our Research Consultancy
team has links across industry and government, and is able to
network with universities and research centres within the UK and
beyond. The prime aim is to manage or conduct high-class research
that enables our clients to achieve their business plan objectives.
Particular emphasis is given to developing good quality practical
guidance, customised for various reader and stakeholder groups, to
meet the ever changing needs of government Departments, Agencies
and Quangos.
Research activities cover a broad
range of disciplines; example areas are given below:

and contractors, to help increase the value of recycled materials
in civil engineering projects – project for WRAP.
- Guidance on surface requirements for shared
use routes, to provide a knowledge resource for route managers and
users alike – project for the Countryside Agency.
- Procedures for identifying risks due to trees
adjacent to highways, and for improving safety at junctions –
projects for Highways Agency.
- Targeting of railway ballast cleaning, to
reduce requirements for new ballast and improve track maintenance
procedures – projects for Network Rail.
- Demonstrating the use of post-consumer tyres
to deliver sustainable construction for public rights of way and
trails – project for WRAP.
Since many of our staff have PhDs we
understand the research process and are able to identify the best
partners to supplement our in-house capabilities. Our ability to
manage the research process and deliver solutions using our
