Noise and Vibration

There is now an increasing need for
environmental noise and vibration impact assessments for new
developments and for architectural acoustics to be considered in
new buildings.
Scott Wilson’s noise and vibration group now
includes 14 members of staff. The size of the group has grown to
support the projects undertaken by the business and meet the
demands of our clients.
The Noise and Vibration Group has a formidable
range of experience in all aspects of noise and vibration. The
majority of the team have post-graduate qualifications in acoustics
and are encouraged to engage in professional career development
activities, including participation in conferences and seminars.
Members are active in local and national professional committees of
the Institute of Acoustics and the Association of Noise Consultants
(ANC).
The Noise and Vibration Group undertake
a wide range of consultancy, industrial and regulatory acoustic
commissions
- Demolition and construction impact
assessments
- Occupational noise and vibration
assessments
- Noise mapping
- Noise and vibration control
- Complaint investigation
- Noise/vibration monitoring
- Architectural and room acoustics
- Expert witness at public inquiries and
court cases
We benefit from the use of computer-aided
design (CAD) and Geographical Information System (GIS) technology,
and operate internationally recognised computer prediction software
to enable fast and cost-effective noise and vibration
predictions.
For measurement and monitoring, the
team have a full range of sound level meters with environmental and
frequency analysis capability and dedicated vibration measurement
equipment. In addition, the team has all the required equipment to
carry out building noise insulation tests to the requirements of
the Building Regulations. All instrumentation is kept up to
date and calibrated to the appropriate standards.
