Holyhead Town Centre

Project Introduction
Scott Wilson was commissioned by Isle of Anglesey County Council
in 2005 to transform the town centre, including the strategic
frontages facing the A55 and port.
Project Background
With an estimated value of £3.5m, the key objective for Scott
Wilson's multidisciplinary team was to reform the area as a
thriving and vibrant place to visit and shop, creating the right
conditions for private sector investment.
Project Scope
The commission includes a landmark gateway building to link with
a new pedestrian bridge, improved streetscapes and shop facades and
upgrades to the railway station and Stena terminal facilities.
The project also includes traffic and parking studies for the
town and the design of major landmark artwork for the end of the
regionally important A55 road.
Value Adding Project Achievements
Scott Wilson acted as the Architects, Structural Engineers, Town
Planners, Quantity Surveyors, Landscape Architects, and the Digital
Animators for Holyhead Town Centre Regeneration. A highly detailed
and accurate animated 'drive through' of the town centre gateway
was produced by the Digital Animators to show the Client the new
urban design proposal including the gateway bridge and new landing
deck bridge.
