Inmet Mining Corporation owns the Çayeli
underground copper-zinc mine located in northeastern Turkey,
approximately 7.5 km from the Black Sea. Çayeli Bakir Isletmeleri
A.S., a wholly owned subsidiary of Inmet, has the surface rights to
operate on the immediate mine property.
Project Background
Development at the Çayeli mine began in early
1990 and commercial production commenced in November 1994. The
deposit is a VMS Kuroko type, and the mining method is transverse
sublevel retreat with paste and waste filling.
Project Scope

Corporation to audit the mineral resources and reserves at the
Çayeli mine and prepare an independent, NI 43-101 compliant
Technical Report. A technical review of the operations was also
provided.
Value Adding Project
Achievements
Scott Wilson visited the mine site and audited
the methodology, database, assays, and block grade estimation
techniques used to estimate the mineral resources and reserves at
Çayeli and found that these were consistent with industry standards
and were prepared and disclosed in accordance with NI
43-101. Scott Wilson reviewed the current operation and
recommended modifications to the life of mine plan.
