Taweelah B – Independent Water and Power Project

Project Background
Taweelah is one of the biggest
power/desalination complexes in the world.
The Taweelah B project included upgrade and refurbishment of the
existing Taweelah B power and desalination plant (approximately 928
MWe and 92 MGD), together with an extension which would add
approximately 1,000 MWe and 65 MGD. The completed combined plant
will provide a net power capacity of up to 2,000 MWe and a maximum
net water capacity of up to 160 MGD.
Project Scope
Scott Wilson was appointed the Owner’s
Engineer to provide a design review of:
- CCGT power plant.
- MSF desalination.
- Potable water forwarding.
- Rehabilitation works.
- We also provided inspection and expediting
services as well as other ad hoc advice on the project.
- The services are ongoing.
