North Corniche Masterplan - Jeddah
Project Introduction
Scott Wilson was commissioned by the
Muncipality of Jeddah Local Government, to create a visionary
masterplan for approximately twelve kilometres of sea front
redevelopment along the North Corniche.
Project Background
The concept of the scheme was based on
delivery of an animated urban waterfront that responds to the
existing context and rich ecology of the site and that will be
unique to the city of Jeddah.
Project Scope
The development intends to address and
increase the amount of public accessible open space, improve
connectivity with the surrounding areas and redesign existing
traffic circulation systems to improve better integration along the
coastal waterfront. The proposal includes enhanced public realm,
accessible waterfront and increased public open space with legible
iconic architectural development to attract and increase investment
potential and localised recognition to the area.
