Project Background
Scott Wilson has been appointed to undertake
historic restoration of the grounds of Chiswick House, London.
Chiswick House and its grounds are of international heritage
significance. The house itself is one of the most glorious examples
of neoclassical architecture in the UK complemented by its
pioneering 18th century Italianate grounds. It is well known for
giving rise to the English Landscape Movement. Decades of intensive
use and insufficient resourcing have left the grounds and garden
buildings in decline. In response, English Heritage and the London
Borough of Hounslow successfully applied for HLF Stage 1 funding
for the restoration, to the value of £12 m. Scott Wilson developed
the project from detail design through to implementation (HLF
Stages 2 & 3).
Project Scope
Lead consultancy, landscape and engineering services. Our brief
