Tidworth Leisure Centre
Project Introduction
Contract Value £7.5 m. Completed 2002. The Client was Ministry
of Defence.
Project Background
This was a joint venture project between the Ministry of Defence
and Kennet District Council creating a physical and recreational
training centre for the Army, while providing Leisure Centre for
the local community. The facilities comprise of a 25 metre pool,
diving pool and flume, double sports hall, squash courts,
cardio-vascular area, community hall, library, bar, cafe and social
areas. The project included a number of features within the design
to accommodate the dual use and segregation of the facilities.
Project Scope
Ferguson McIlveen (now Scott Wilson) provided Architecture,
Civil and Structural Engineering and Landscape Architecture
services working through project managers, Schal.
Value Adding Project Achievements
The scheme was completed on time and within budget. The
completed project has proved very satisfactory to both the Army and
the Local Community.
