Glencorse Army Barracks

Project Introduction
The £60 million
flagship, state-of-the-art barracks and Services Family
Accommodation at Glencorse in Scotland will be the permanent home
for the Royal Highland Fusiliers.
Project Background
This is the final phase of a 15 year redevelopment plan for the
barracks. Built on the former site of the Army Training Regiment
Glencorse, the scheme was developed from a vision for future
barracks accommodation to produce the very best in modern
facilities.
Project Scope
The work has taken four years to complete and includes all the
amenities you would expect from a modern college campus rather than
an Army barracks, including hi-tech learning facilities for
soldiers to develop their skills and education. Soldiers with
families are accommodated nearby in 151 spacious new houses to the
north of the main barracks, and include an on-site community centre
for clubs, functions and welfare facilities.
Value Adding Project Achievements
Scott Wilson provided both
Project Management and Structural Engineering services for
this project, working closely with the other design team members to
develop a design that fully addressed the client’s brief in a cost
efficient manner.
