Project Background
This development, at a prime central London location, comprises
a contemporary office building and a high-quality residential
building. The scheme combines state of the art design and
construction techniques with appropriate sympathetic references to
the historical surroundings of the area. In keeping with the local
streetscape, a 'mews' separates the two uses on the site, creating
private amenity space for the residents.
Scott Wilson is providing structural engineering services for
the project. The design of the office building adds value by
creating a column-free floor plate with 16m spans from the core to
the façade. The existing basement of the previous building on the
site is to be extensively reused to maximise efficiency of the
development. Fastrack construction methods are used where possible
to minimise the programme duration.
