Wintergardens, Great
Yarmouth
Project Introduction
- Client: Great Yarmouth Council
- Value: £2m
- Completion: 2009
Project background
This classic iron and timber building was constructed in Torquay
in 1881, and relocated to Great Yarmouth in 1904. The exposed
seafront environment had caused extensive decay, and following our
survey of the structure we specified emergency temporary
supports. Our current work involves conservation and
reinstatement of the original fabric where previous inappropriate
repairs had been made.
