Project background
This project involved the conservation and conversion of a
historic prison and castle building, in Oxford city centre, dating
from the 11th century. The new mixed use complex is made up of a
100-bedroom Malmaison hotel featuring "cell" rooms with original
doors and landing balustrade, 50 apartments, 10 restaurants and an
open market place. We were responsible for mechanical,
electrical and public health design of the new-build and
refurbishment/conversion elements.
