Yateley Manor School
Project Introduction
Contract Value £6 m. Completed 2003. The Client was Yateley Manor
School.
Project Background
An initial feasibility study suggested a phased development of
the existing school that dated, in parts, back to the 19th century.
One of the initial criteria within the design development was to
ensure that the school maintained its working functions throughout,
so that no child was disadvantaged by any disruption created
because of the new works. The phased development included new
classrooms, workshops, studios, new entrance and toilet facilities
to the Junior School, refurbished staff facilities and offices,
refurbished swimming pool and creation of a music department and
new nursery school.
Project Scope
Ferguson McIlveen (now Scott Wilson) were appointed as
Architects, Civil and Structural Engineers and Landscape
Architects.
Value Adding Project Achievements
Over a six year period we worked closely with the School to try
and ensure the least disruption to their routines. Health and
Safety, noise and dust were all issues that needed to be
addressed.
