Project Introduction
Contract Value £15m. Completed 2004. The Client was St Paul's
Catholic College.
Project Background
As FM Modern Design (now Scott Wilson) we were engaged in the
feasibility study to move the existing school in Hayward Heath to a
new site in Burgess Hill. By vacating their existing site the
school was able to sell this to a house developer and create
finances necessary for the new venture. The school design
consciously incorporated as many sustainable and energy saving
features as possible.
Project Scope
FM Modern Design (now Scott Wilson) were appointed as
Architects, Civil and Structural Engineers and Landscape
Architects.
Value Adding Project Achievements
A partnering ethos was adopted throughout the contract and this
allowed value engineering to be considered at all stages. The
project was completed on schedule to allow the School to have
complete occupation for the beginning of the academic year.
